Only about 3/4 of the glass standoff bracket is used to hold up the weight of the glass panels it is supporting. This part is bolted into the mounting surface. Then, once the glass is in place, the rest of the pin is attached to the outer side of the glass panel and twisted into place until the glass is compressed.
The 2” pins weigh about 4 pounds each and are made of 2205 duplex stainless steel. This is the same material that is used in high-traffic metal structures and oil rigs around the world. These pins may be small in size, but you shouldn’t underestimate them. These sturdy pins are side-mounted, much in the same style as the Side Mount Talon Spigot. However, where the Talon spigot clamps a piece of glass through tilt lock technology, the glass standoff pin compresses glass using a solid threaded bolt.

About 3/4 of the standoff pin is used to hold up the weight of the glass panels it is supporting; this part of the pin is bolted into the surface the glass railing is being applied to (the standoff pin can also be recessed into a mounting surface). Once the glass is in place, the rest of the pin is attached on the outer side of the glass panel, and is twisted into place until the glass is compressed. This second piece is the circle you see when looking at standoff pin glass railing.

Standoff pin projects your glass panel 1 7/8″ off the wall. Fits both 1/2″ and 9/16″ laminated glass, with a 1 1/8″ hole pre-drilled for the pin to pass through.
Can be used to mount glass panels up to 4 feet wide. Requires 4 pins per panel.
Mounting
For best use, install the 2” Standoff Pin on a wood surface. Pair it with either 1/2″ or 9/16” thick laminated glass: each 4’ long panel must have 4 pre-drilled holes for each pin to pass through. The pin projects glass panels 1 7/8” from the mounting surface. If you plan to use these with treads, you will need 2 pins on every tread, and the tread will need to be at least 3½” thick.
